Platte County Ridge With a View

Platte County Ridge With a View

Nestled into the woods overlooking acres of agricultural fields, Platte County Ridge with a View takes the words, “outdoor living” to a new extreme. We designed this expansive project to match the aesthetic of our client’s Mountain Lodge home. We integrated the same substantial timbers from the home into the cabana structure. Boulders, flagstone and sandstone veneer cover every exposed surface–the enormous flagstone pool deck and sandstone infinity wall highlight the use of this natural material. Water cascades over the infinity edge, spa bond beam and swim-in grotto to create a naturalistic ambiance in every area of the project. The moving water provides a relaxing backdrop of white noise in any location. Our design includes an upper pool, complete with an entry reef and free form spa that seamlessly transitions into the upper pool basin. As with every project, we create a design that allows the site to work for us, not against us. The property had a significant grade change, so we utilized a design that terraced the backyard, allowing us to incorporate a plunge pool and waterslide on the steep hillside. Apart from pool-related amenities, this project includes multiple fire features and a full kitchen. The wood timber cabana is an architectural element that provides weight and verticality to scale with the home and rest of the project. The cabana is not only a functional shade canopy but also serves as a full outdoor kitchen. The kitchen includes all appliances, a grill and entertainment center. The 80-inch television can be raised or lowered and is visible from multiple angles, including the adjoining four seat swim-up bar. Functional necessities like a pool equipment room, bathroom and an outdoor shower are out of sight, hidden at a lower level beneath the cabana. The depth and breadth of Platte County Ridge with a View, the attention to detail and the selection of high quality materials makes this a remarkable finished project.
